About the challenge
HackSPU 2025 is an all-day innovation challenge where students from every major come together to design, build, and present solutions that make a real impact. Hosted by the Saint Peter’s University Computer Science Club, this event encourages creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in three exciting innovation tracks — Pioneer, Sustainability, and Educational. Whether you’re developing a new app, refining an existing project, or improving an open-source idea, HackSPU is your chance to turn bold ideas into reality and compete for amazing prizes.
Get started
Form your team (up to 3 members) or participate individually — everyone is welcome!
Once registered, you’ll receive details about check-in, setup, and team formation. Bring your laptop, charger, and any tools you need to bring your ideas to life. Mentors and volunteers will be available throughout the day to provide guidance, technical support, and feedback.
Requirements
What to Build
You can build any project that fits one of the three innovation tracks:
-
Pioneer Track: Original, creative, or technically advanced projects that push boundaries.
-
Sustainability Track: Projects focused on environmental, social, or economic sustainability.
-
Educational Track: Tools or applications that support learning, teaching, or student success.
Projects can be new, pre-built, or open-source — as long as they’re completed, improved, or refined during HackSPU 2025.
What to Submit
Each team must submit the following by the deadline:
-
A project file (PDF, ZIP, or Word) containing documentation, source code, or presentation slides.
-
A demo video link (1–3 minutes) explaining the project’s concept, functionality, and impact.
-
A short project description including your track category and team members’ names.
Only complete submissions will appear in the HackSPU 2025 Project Gallery and qualify for judging.
